Data processed

At the user's request, ImageTrace processes website content needed for image discovery: page and image URLs, page title and domain, image alt/title text, dimensions, format, and discovery method. Projects may contain names, tags, notes, download/source records, thumbnails, and optional local image blobs. Settings, onboarding status, review state, and history are also stored.

Storage and transfer

Product data is stored locally in Chrome storage and IndexedDB (image-trace-db). ImageTrace has no developer backend, account, cloud sync, or analytics service.

Product images, source URLs, project names, tags, notes, searches, and download history are not sent to the developer or the advertising provider. A user may explicitly export JSON, CSV, or ZIP files or open a pre-filled email; email is never sent automatically.

To provide its core image-discovery and download function from a persistent Side Panel, ImageTrace requests access to HTTP and HTTPS webpages at installation. It does not continuously monitor browsing activity. The bundled discovery script reads the active tab's full DOM once only when the user presses Scan all images. Pick from page and ImageTrace context-menu commands process only the selected image. Content loaded later requires another scan. Restricted pages do not cause ImageTrace to read a previous tab, and it does not request or use Chrome's browsing-history API.

Advertising

After the user reviews the advertising/data disclosure during onboarding and chooses “Agree and get started,” ImageTrace enables one managed PlayaYield advertisement inside the Side Panel. Ads cannot be persistently disabled in Settings. A user may close the ad for the current panel session, but ImageTrace requests an ad again when a new panel session opens. If an ad request fails or no inventory is available, ImageTrace explains that no ad is available and minimizes the area after about 2.5 seconds. It retries about every 60 seconds only while the panel is visible, and core features continue to work without ad inventory.

For ad delivery, impression/click measurement, fraud prevention, and service performance, PlayaYield may process IP address, general country/region derived from IP, browser type and version, operating system, language settings, extension or application identifiers, device type, ad request timestamps, and technical ad-delivery/performance information.

ImageTrace supplies only a fixed placement (sidepanel) and dimensions (320×50) to the ad adapter. It does not provide images, page/image URLs, projects, tags, notes, searches, or download history to the advertising provider. ImageTrace does not sell personal data or use website/product data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Retention and control

Download history is retained for the most recent 90 days and is then deleted automatically. Projects, image source records, tags, notes, settings, and other local data remain in the browser profile until the user deletes them or removes the extension data. JSON backups exclude large image blobs by default, and restores are validated before transactional import.

Security, copyright, and access limits

ImageTrace does not bypass authentication, paywalls, DRM, browser security controls, or access restrictions. Source recording does not grant copyright permission or a license. Users must verify applicable website and rights-holder terms.

Feedback and policy changes

Feedback sent to abcdejoji@gmail.com is processed by the user's and developer's email providers. URL and environment details are excluded by default. Material changes will update the effective date and published policy.

ImageTrace's use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Website content and browsing data are never transferred or used for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

사용자 요청 시 페이지·이미지 URL, 페이지 제목·도메인, 이미지 alt/title, 크기, 형식과 발견 방식을 처리합니다. 프로젝트 이름, 태그, 메모, 다운로드·출처 기록, 작은 미리보기와 사용자가 선택한 로컬 이미지 Blob을 저장할 수 있습니다. 설정, 온보딩, 리뷰 상태와 기록도 저장합니다.

저장과 전송

제품 데이터는 Chrome 로컬 저장소와 IndexedDB(image-trace-db)에만 저장됩니다. 개발자 서버, 계정, 클라우드 동기화, 사용자 분석 서비스가 없습니다.

이미지, 출처 URL, 프로젝트, 태그, 메모, 검색어와 다운로드 기록을 개발자나 광고 제공자에게 보내지 않습니다. JSON·CSV·ZIP 내보내기와 이메일 앱 열기는 사용자가 직접 실행하며 이메일은 자동 발송되지 않습니다.

지속되는 Side Panel에서 핵심 이미지 탐색·다운로드 기능을 제공하기 위해 설치 시 HTTP·HTTPS 웹페이지 접근 권한을 요청합니다. 탐색 활동을 상시 감시하지 않습니다. 사용자가 이미지 전체 탐색을 누를 때만 현재 활성 탭의 전체 DOM을 한 번 읽고, 페이지에서 직접 선택 또는 ImageTrace 컨텍스트 메뉴를 실행하면 선택한 이미지만 처리합니다. 이후 추가로 로드된 콘텐츠는 다시 탐색해야 반영됩니다. 탐색 불가 페이지에서는 이전 탭을 대신 읽지 않으며 Chrome의 방문 기록 API는 요청하거나 사용하지 않습니다.

광고

온보딩의 광고·데이터 고지를 확인하고 “동의하고 시작하기”를 선택하면 Side Panel 안에 PlayaYield 관리형 광고 한 개가 활성화됩니다. 설정에서 영구적으로 끌 수 없지만 현재 패널 세션에서는 닫을 수 있고, 패널을 다시 열면 광고가 다시 요청됩니다. 광고 요청이 실패하거나 재고가 없으면 현재 표시할 광고가 없음을 알리고 약 2.5초 후 영역을 축소합니다. 패널이 보일 때만 약 60초 간격으로 다시 요청하며 광고가 없어도 핵심 기능은 정상 작동합니다.

PlayaYield는 광고 제공, 노출·클릭 측정, 부정 트래픽 방지와 서비스 성능을 위해 IP 주소, IP 기반 국가·지역 수준의 일반 위치, 브라우저 종류·버전, 운영체제, 언어 설정, 확장 프로그램 또는 애플리케이션 식별자, 기기 종류, 광고 요청 시각과 광고 제공·성능 관련 기술정보를 처리할 수 있습니다.

ImageTrace 광고 어댑터는 고정 배치(sidepanel)와 크기(320×50)만 전달하며 이미지, 페이지·이미지 URL, 프로젝트, 태그, 메모, 검색어와 다운로드 기록을 광고 제공자에게 전달하지 않습니다. 개인정보를 판매하지 않으며 웹사이트·제품 데이터를 맞춤형·리타게팅·관심 기반 광고에 사용하지 않습니다.

보존과 삭제

다운로드 기록은 최근 90일 동안 보관한 후 자동 삭제됩니다. 프로젝트, 이미지 출처, 태그, 메모, 설정과 기타 로컬 데이터는 사용자가 삭제하거나 확장 프로그램 데이터를 제거할 때까지 브라우저 프로필에 보관됩니다. 기본 JSON 백업은 큰 이미지 Blob을 제외하며 복원 데이터는 검증 후 트랜잭션으로 적용합니다.

보안·저작권·접근 제한

ImageTrace는 로그인, 유료 콘텐츠, DRM, 브라우저 보안 또는 접근 제한을 우회하지 않습니다. 출처 기록은 저작권 사용 허가나 라이선스를 의미하지 않습니다. 사용자는 웹사이트와 권리자의 적용 조건을 직접 확인해야 합니다.
